A tragic event unfolded in Maharashtra's Sangli district on Thursday morning, where a 30-year-old woman lost her life at the hands of her husband.
Husband Attacks with Bamboo Stick
The victim, identified as Shilwanti Pail, was brutally struck on the head with a bamboo stick by her husband, Pintu Patil, during a heated argument. Following the attack, Pintu fled the scene along with their two children.
According to local reports, Pintu, originally from Huljanti village, had been residing in Sangli for several years and worked as a laborer. He and Shilwanti had settled in Hanumannagar, Sangli, with their two kids.
Shilwanti's Temporary Departure
Reports indicate that the couple had been experiencing frequent disputes recently. On June 13, Shilwanti left their home to stay with her sister in Pune. In her absence, Pintu reported her missing to the authorities.
Investigation Underway
Shilwanti returned home without notifying the police, and on June 26, Pintu attacked her with the bamboo stick before locking her in a shed and escaping. The police have since initiated an investigation into the incident.
Separate Incident in Delhi
In an unrelated case, a 26-year-old man was arrested for allegedly pushing a girl off a rooftop in the Jyoti Nagar area of Delhi. The suspect, identified as Taufeeq from Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended following a complaint filed on June 23. Police teams worked collaboratively to locate and arrest him by June 24.
